Nothing New – People Tear Buildings Down All the Time

Home donations from Tiger’s ex-wife aid Habitat for Humanity By BILL DIPAOLO. The Palm Beach Post Staff Writer tells us about what Elin Nordegren, the ex-wife of Tiger Woods, actually did prior to having the pest infested property demolished down in Seminole Landing, Florida.  She donated anything that could be salvaged to Habitat for Humanity in Martin County.  No reason to jump to any conclusions about what her intentions area, Elin has a plan.

She bought a beautiful piece of high-end ocean front property that just happened to have a house on it.  Her new home will be beautiful, of course, and more power to her for cleaning up an older pest infested home.  Even Habitat would not take some of the items they could have salvaged from the site, due to decay, to be used on other projects.   I thank her for salvaging the materials that could be refurbished and placed into other home projects. Those donated materials will be put to good use or sold to support other project by Habitat.

Yes, you could say – “She had the opportunity to have a Contractors Inspection and why didn’t she back out of the purchase then?”  Well, because she probably did not realized the extent of the damage.  Maybe plans changed.  Did she make a mistake.  No, because she made a purchase of prime real estate.  She is no different than any other buyer.   Buyers realize when purchasing real estate one of the most important criteria is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

Tearing down buildings and cleaning up property damage is done every single day in the great big world of Real Estate.   This is not new news.  Finding just the right location is a process all buyers work to achieve.

Now, back to the premise of my Post – Elin, enjoy having your new home built – looks to be a terrific ocean-front view!

Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons – Not from Mars

Sounds like something from Mars.  Are these for ocean going vessels?  Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons – otherwise know as RRFBs.  No – they are for the City of Ann Arbor and they want four of them.  At least that was the discussion at a recent City Council meeting in Ann Arbor.  A presentation was made to consider the installation of the a new flashing light system at pedestrian intersections in four locations along Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan.   You can see what these lights look like in action by viewing this YouTube Video below.  And to read the complete article entitled:

Next step for Ann Arbor’s pedestrian crosswalks on Plymouth Road: Strobe lights?

By Ryan J. Stanton, Political Reporter for AnnArbor.com

Oh, they do sound like a good idea, especially after viewing the video – they seem to really let you know that there is something going on at the intersection.  Well, if they work, and the RRFBs keep my car from getting rear ended then GREAT!!!!
